Welcome to Riding Thru Bees

Imagine riding your bike down a long smooth road canopied by a towering row of oak trees. Beams of sunlight break through the trees giving the path a succession of diffuse spotlights. Life is good.

Then from nowhere, you enter a swarm of bees. You freak out, close your eyes, and clamp your lips shut. And then, you pray–that you don’t get stung, crash, or worse yet, eat a bee. As you emerge from the swarm, you frantically survey your visible self and flick off hitchhiking bees, all the while praying that you don’t crash. You are completely distracted from the peaceful oak shaded road.

Riding Thru Bees is about staying focused in the midst of distractions. In this blog, I will share my insights from studying the Bible and my attempts to stay focused on a faith filled life in the midst of many distractions. Daily, I hope not to get stung, crash, or eat a bee.

I am not a pastor. I am not a writer.

I am a husband. I am a father. I work a normal job in the electric utility sector. And, I volunteer with a campus ministry.

But ultimately, I am someone on a journey down the road of life.

Oh, and if you join the ride, like my hitchhiking bees, please don’t sting. This is my first attempt at a blog.

I hope you enjoy it.
